HOW TO CALCULATE 46 PROTECTION

ANSI code 46 protection, also known as Phase Unbalance or Negative Sequence Current Protection, is designed to prevent damage to electrical machines (motors and generators) caused by unbalanced currents. These unbalances induce negative sequence current (I_2) in the rotor, which leads to significant, localized overheating.
